Brand Inspiration
I created Osi Ayurveda Oils out of a desire to have products that would keep my skin radiant, clear my mind and cleanse my body. I noticed the effects that stress and a nonstop lifestyle would have on my face and skin, and I wanted to achieve a state of well-being that felt similar to completing a lengthy yoga practice, enjoying Abhyanga (hot oils massage), drinking a green juice or simply laughing.

My oils helped me to feel good about myself and my skin, and became a significant part of my daily self-care routine. When I began using Osi Glow Face Oil, I got so many compliments on the vibrancy of my skin and how youthful I looked. I decided that all women should have the opportunity to feel and look amazing about the spirit of their skin, and Osi Oils was born.

Osi Oils are created with 99% organic ingredients, including Ayurvedic herbs and pure essential oils. Inspired by the ancient practices of Ayurveda, Osi Oils have a grounding and calming effect, help create feelings of relaxation and bring a vibrant glow to your skin.
Modern Ayurveda
Ayurveda is an ancient system of healing that has been practiced in India for over 5000 years. It is a holistic approach to health that was designed to help people live long and well-balanced lives. The word Ayurveda derives from Sanskrit terminology, with “ayus” meaning life and “veda” meaning knowledge.
The basic principle of Ayurveda is to maintain balance in the body for optimal health and for disease prevention. Balance can be obtained in the body, mind and conscious through a healthy lifestyle of eating and drinking and herbal remedies. Additionally, Ayurveda can be very beneficial when combined with other traditional practices such as yoga.

The 3 Doshas
According to Ayurvedic principles, every person has a specific pattern of mental, physical and emotional energy, also known as the 3 doshas. Vata, Pitta and Kapha are the 3 types of energies believed to be present, with 1 or 2 being dominant in different people.

Vata is energy that controls motion, including blood circulation, respiration and heartbeat. When Vata is in balance, creativity and vitality thrive. When Vata is out of balance, fear and anxiety increase.

Pitta is energy that controls metabolism, digestion, absorption, nutrition and temperature. When Pitta is balanced, a person’s intelligence and contentment is enhanced. Irritability and anger arise when Pitta is not balanced.

Kapha is energy that maintains the immune system, keeps the body hydrated, and keeps the skin moisturized. Love and forgiveness are common emotions when Kapha is in balance. When Kapha is out of balance, envy and insecurity become apparent.
When outside factors, such as stress, weather or unhealthy diet, disturb the balance of energy, disease occurs. Yoga, healthy eating, and healing Ayurvedic oils all help bring the doshas back into balance.

About Osi
Osi Mizrahi is a writer, entrepreneur, and yoga instructor whose teachings draw deeply from the traditions of Kabbala, Kundalini, Shambala, and Ayurveda. Osi guides students toward a path that honors the self and promotes self-acceptance. Her philosophy stresses the importance of living a life of purpose and intention, while keeping the creative spark lit and being open to self-reinvention. Training female students to cultivate their inner beauty and strength by embracing their femininity is of particular interest to Osi.

The concept of “home,” representative of self, plays a foundational role in Osi's ideology. From her own home in New York, NY, she runs Osi Living, a business that offers Ayurveda Oils. The company, founded in 2012, stems from Osi's resolution to help women learn how to achieve emotional and physical well-being through Ayurveda practices, self care, yoga and meditation. Osi's home in Westchester also serves as a spiritual retreat, where she works in a yurt and stays close to the earth by raising chickens, tending beehives, composting and gardening.

Osi also travels the world to learn, grow and explore; she has led workshops in her native Israel as well as in France and Costa Rica. This dialogue between the intimate sphere and larger world is fundamental to Osi's work helping individuals find balance, the source of all energy. Even as Osi stresses the importance of a simplified life, she lives by the principle of commitment, something she learned by studying yoga and serving as a yoga instructor for more than 20 years.
